During the 2015/16 season the Curvices Amsterdam (2015) poetry and music app by Rozalie Hirs is featured at Muziekgebouw aan’t IJ, Amsterdam, The Netherlands, at the occasion of its tenth anniversary. The launch takes place on 11 September 2015 at 17:00 CET at the terrace of Restaurant Zouthaven. Composer/poet Rozalie Hirs and architect Machiel Spaan talk about the brandnew installation around Muziekgebouw and take the audience on a guided tour. The launch is followed by a reception.

Curvices (2013) is a digital application, a virtual poetry and sound installation for mobile devices by Rozalie Hirs (music, poetry, voice), Cox & Grusenmeyer (design, animations), Yvan Vander Sanden (software design, realisation), and Machiel Spaan (spatial design), based on the poetry book Curvices and Musicles by Rozalie Hirs. It is location specific and was originally commissioned by Musica, Neerpelt, Belgium, for Klankenbos, the first open-air museum for sound art in Europe. The brandndew version Curvices Amsterdam, location specific to the space around Muziekgebouw aan’t IJ, is a birthday gift from Rozalie and was made possible with financial support by M3H Architecten.

The app is open to the public around the clock from 11 September 2015 until 15 September 2016. You can download the app for free with the QR code provided on the day of its launch.
