Alongside Hirs, Jens Kuhle gives a related workshop on Installation art. The educational program is part of Kunstwelten, organized by the Akademie der Künste, Berlin.

On October 10, 2009, Spaces of Blank (music: Michel van der Aa; poetry: Anne Carson, Emily Dickinson, Rozalie Hirs) is performed by mezzo Sarah Castle and the Netherlands Radio Chamber Philharmonic conducted by Micha Hamel. The concert is part of the Nederlandse Muziekdagen (Dutch Music Days) at Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ.

Van der Aa composed the piece for Christianne Stotijn based on poems by Anne Carson, Emily Dickinson, and Rozalie Hirs.

On July 2, 2009, the arts festival Watou opens with an installation of helium balloons, on which poems have been printed by the following poets: Bart Moeyart, Roland Jooris, Joke van Leeuwen, Leonard Nolens, Bart Meuleman and Rozalie Hirs. The poem ‘Wereld van nu’ by Rozalie forms part of the installation and has been integrated into the exposition, which is on display from July 2 to September 6, 2009.

Bridge of Babel – exposition opening

Android, 2009 (Roel van Timmeren in collaboration with the composers Rozalie Hirs, Gerda Geertens, Huba de Graaf, Mayke Nas), sound installation at Kinkerbrug, Amsterdam, 2009

On June 27, 2009, the sound installation Android (2009) is opened, designed by Roel van Timmeren/ ILAP especially for the Kinker bridge in Amsterdam. In this installation, the electro-acoustic musical composition Bridge of Babel (2009) by Rozalie Hirs is heard, as well as brand new works by Gerda Geertens, Huba de Graaff and Mayke Nas. The installation is on display during the three months of summer.

On April 5, 2009, the event WortMusik takes place: a portrait concert of Rozalie Hirs featuring the artist, on the invitation of curator and pianist Stevko Busch, Gallery of Tones. During WortMusik the musical compositions Curved space/ Gekromde ruimte (2009), Poetry pieces I-III (2008) and Aan de zon de wereld (2006) by Rozalie Hirs are performed at the Goethe Institut, Amsterdam. The performance of Curved space/ Gekromde ruimte is a world premiere.
