Ways of Space (2019), Van Doesburg House, France – tryout

On Saturday 2 November 2019 at 15:00 CET the sound artist Fedde ten Berge (*1983) is a guest artist at the Maison Van Doesburg, Meudon, Paris, France. He presents several of his sound art installations to the public: Klank Experimenteer Station/ KES, Stronk, Egg, Shroom, and Hybride Microphone (see picture below).

At 16:00 CET the architect Machiel Spaan and composer Rozalie Hirs present their new architectural sound sculpture Ways of Space (2019), which they have developed in close collaboration during their artist-in-residence at Maison Van Doesburg, Meudon, France. Ways of Space (2019) is inspired by the concept of the ‘open floorplan’ developed by Theo Van Doesburg (1883-1931) for his own residence. Spaan created the spatial arrangement of loudspeakers and Hirs composed new electronic sounds for the musical composition. It is the third collaborative architecture/sound art project by Spaan and Hirs, after Curvices (2013-present), and the Listening House (2017-present). The residency is supported by Mondriaanfonds, Maison Theo Van Doesburg, and Stimuleringsfonds voor de Creatieve Industrie.

The entrance is free. Since the space is limited, advance reservation through an e-mail to is advised.
