30+30 Poets’ marathon

On 30 January 2014 at the occasion of the National Poetry Day in The Netherlands (Gedichtendag) on 30 January 2014, Perdu presents its traditional Poetry Marathon. During this event thirty Dutch poets each read three poems: two poems they’ve written themselves as well as one translation of a selected poem by a foreign author.

The topics of conversation are ‘Poesie verstehen’ and the current poetry exhibit at Kunsttempel TINO, SatzZeichungen.

Exhibition of visual poetry, Kassel

On 24 January 2014 at 19:00 the exhibition TINO, SatzZeichungen is officially opened. The drawings shown in this exhibition are all inspired by an Oskar Pastior quote: “Tino ist im Garten und sieht eine Orange.”

All drawings were devised by the following poets who have performed at 3 durch 3 – reihe Sprachkunst, Kassel, Germany, during its first decade: Friedrich Achleitner, Friedrich W. You are cordially invited to an evening with Valeri Schertsjanoi, Jonathan Bragdon, and Rozalie Hirs tonight at 3durch3 – reihe sprachkunst in Kassel, Germany. Schertsjanoi will be presenting sound and concrete poetry from his recent collection Partitions Scribentiques published by hochroth, Paris. Bragdon will show graphite drawings accompanied by a reading of his brandnew epic poem on consciousness, and the mind. Rozalie Hirs will read ‘a day’ in several languages (English and German translations by Donald Gardner and Ard Posthuma), ‘der zog meine schuhe an’ (German translation: Ard Posthuma), and perform her electroacoustic composition Bridge of Babel. Welcome!

Lage Landen serie (Lowlands series), Ooteoote, 2014

On 1 January 2012 Rozalie Hirs initiated the Lage Landen serie (Lowlands series) of new, previously unpublished poems by Dutch and Flemish poets, of which she has remained curator. Forty-two poems were pubished in 2012, twenty-two more 2013, followed by fifteen new poems in 2014. Read the full series at the literary webzine Ooteoote.
